DUE TO THE EXTRAORDINARY TRAFFIC GENERATED BY THIS IMAGE (350,000 VISITS!) AND THE NUMEROUS REQUESTS WE’VE RECEIVED ON HOW TO DONATE, WE WILL BE OFFERING ARCHIVAL FINE ART PRINTS OF OUR EVEREST GIGAPIXEL AS A “THANK-YOU” FOR YOUR TAX-DEDUCTIBLE CONTRIBUTION. PLEASE CONTACT US FOR MORE DETAILS.
This gigapixel image of the Khumbu glacier was captured by David Breashears during the spring of 2012, from the Pumori viewpoint near Mount Everest. The Khumbu Icefall is clearly visible here, and one can easily see the hustle and bustle of Everest Base Camp below.
